Have you noticed the fascinating parallels between leading employees and tending to a garden? Each employee is as unique as a vegetable in a garden and managers must learn how to nurture their growth effectively. For example:
Peas can be easy to grow, but if you don’t prepare the soil or if you plant them too late in the season, you’ll be disappointed. The same can be said of our onboarding program. You can’t wing it and expect great results.
Tomatoes flourish with sturdy stakes and trellises, but they rot on the ground without them. Some employees are the same as tomatoes. They thrive best with clear guidelines and support structures.
Zucchinis are known for their rapid growth, but without proper management, they can take over the garden! Now think about your employees that have abundant energy and ideas. They can take over, too! However, with guidance to channel their enthusiasm, they can shine without overwhelming others.
